KERMAN PROVINCE
Kerman province is the largest province of Iran with over 301,640 hectares of pistachio orchards and is the largest pistachio producer in Iran, which accounts for over 80% of the production and 77% of Iran’s pistachio area.
The cities of Rafsanjan, Sirjan, Zarand, Kerman, Anar, and Shahrbabak are respectively the leading regions of the pistachio production industry in Kerman province.
So far, about 300 types of pistachios have been identified. The collection of Kerman Province Pistachio Research Institute has 61 types of them. But the four most popular and commercial types of this amazing fruit are:
- Fandoghi
- Kale Ghochi
- Akbari
- Ahmad Aghaei
