Kalute dates are one of the most delicious and popular dates in Iran and many consumers in other countries love these dates. They can be categorized as moist and semi-moist dates and are among the most delicious types of dates with their high honey and syrup content. This type has a large size and its soft and tasty texture makes them very popular among date lovers.
Appearance
These types of dates are very similar to Mazafati dates in appearance, and the difference between them is in their color. Kalute dates have a dark red-brown color and Mazafati dates are black. They are on average 4 to 5 centimeters long. Each date weighs on average between 9 to 11 grams. Their moisture content ranges from about 14 to 22 percent depending on the harvest time and location. The skin of kalute dates easily separates from its flesh. Their core also has little adhesion to their flesh. The texture of this type of date is slightly firmer than the Mazafati date.
Production & Harvesting
These dates are grown in the southern cities of Iran. The cities of Manoojan, Kuhnooj, Roodbar, Jiroft, and Anbarabad are among the prominent cities in producing this type of date. Kalute dates of Jiroft city can be considered the best ones among other cities. Kalute dates are ready for harvest in early September and then they are stored and sold.
How to store kalute dates?
Due to the moisture of kalite, it is better to store them in the refrigerator and prevent humidity and air circulation. The best temperature for storing this date is between 5 degrees Celsius to 0 degrees Celsius.

Kalute dates have international customers around the world due to their high quality and good taste. They are bought by Asian, European, and several American countries. According to statistics, the largest buyer of this date is Tajikistan, and Germany, Malaysia, Turkey, and Pakistan are among the other buyers of this delicious date.
